It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Carl Edward Long of Newport, Kentucky, who passed away on November 18, 2024, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Marlene Long; his grandson Greg Colston, Jr.; and his son-in-law Johnnie Watts. He is survived by: his children, Debbie Watts, Larry Long (MaryJo), Linda Cunningham (Dave), Carl Long, Jr., Pauline Gies (Ron), Nellie Napier, Carol Constable (Dale), Peggy Henn (Tim), Sandy Turner (David Conway) and Lisa Brossart (Ron); his brother Stanley Long (Sandy); and his brother-in-law Terry Quinn (Elaine). He is also survived by 26 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 21st 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, November 22nd 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Fares J. Radel Funeral Home (822 York St, Newport, KY 41071). A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 22nd 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
