He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, William "Bill" and Virginia "Dot" Farrar; his brothers, James "Jimmy" Farrar and William "Bobby" Farrar; and his children, Richard II, Michael Shawn, Angie Farrar of New Liberty, KY, Shelly Donnelly (Charles) of Sparta, Misty Carson (Nathan) of Bedford, KY and Ruth Mercer of Berry, KY. He was also cherished by 18 grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren.
