He was predeceased by: his father Fred Hicks; and his siblings, Sharon Egorow, Janice Hicks, Kenneth Hicks and David Hicks.
He is survived by: his children, Larry Hicks (Angela), Jeff Hicks and Susan Reese (David) of Lexington; his grandchildren, Dr. Nathan Hicks and Miranda Reese; his great grandchild Landyn Hicks; his mother Catherine Hicks of New Hope; and his siblings, Lois Mattingly (Joe Larry) of New Haven, Judy Masterson (Fuzz) of New Haven, Debbie Morris of New Hope, Nancy Newton (Stuart) of Loretto, Lisa Hall of Bloomfield, Steve Hicks (Mary), Donald Hicks of New Hope and Rick Hicks (Susan) of Lexington. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Ted thoroughly enjoyed his contributions to plant, soil and weed science research.
