He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Wendelgast, Sr. and Mary Wendelgast (Glasgow); his wife Loretta; and his grandchildren, Matthew Blanton and Lyla Wilson.
He is survived by: his children, Danny Hoskins (Wendy) of Louisville, Cindy Joyce (Trae) of Louisville and Amy Blanton (Ernie) of Bardstown; his siblings, Patricia McGary and Paul Wendelgast; his grandchildren, Chelsea, Taylor, Kristen, Andrew, Marian, Tyler and Haley; and his great grandchildren, Oliver and Dayten. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, January 20th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Tuesday, January 21st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home & Cremation Services (1475 New Shepherdsville Rd, Bardstown, KY 40004). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 21st 2025 at 12:30 PM at the same location.
