He was predeceased by: his parents, Maynard Heightchew and Ida Heightchew (Ebersbakers); and his sister Agnes Smither. He is survived by: his wife Nancy Carol Heightchew (Powell) of New Castle; and his children, Sherry L. Crowe of New Castle, Debbie C. Meek (Andy) of New Castle, Steve M. Heightchew (Rhonda) of New Castle and Terry L. Heightchew (Nina) of New Castle. He is also survived by 6 Grandchildren 3 Great-Grandchildren.
