He was predeceased by: his parents, William Alfred and Mary Frances Sams (Smither); and his stepdaughter Teresa Sprunger. He is also survived by 3 sisters & 3 brothers.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Eminence Crossroads Lighthouse Church.
