She was predeceased by: her parents, Dolan Edmiston and Clyde Edmiston; her husband Walter Thompson "W. T." Burgess; her siblings, Robert Edmiston and Clyda Edmiston Jordan; her brother-in-law John Edwards; and her son-in-law Tommy Ligon.
She is survived by: her sister Amma Nell Edwards of El Paso, TX; her children, Allen Parker "A. P." Burgess (Sherida) of Providence, KY and Terri Burgess Ligon of Greensboro, GA; her grandchildren, Stacy Burgess Mitchell (Brad) of Madisonville, KY, Lauren Ligon Brooks of Smyrna, GA, Carrie Burgess Durban (Jared) of Madisonville, KY and John Conley Ligon (Sarah) of Greensboro, GA; her great grandchildren, Amber, Ava, George, Everett, Elison, Reese, Leah Kate and Parker; and her nephew Steve Edwards of El Paso, TX. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
