He was predeceased by: his parents, Barnett Waits and Ethel Waits; and his siblings, Lucille Jacobs, Martha Ethington, Jane Waits, Marjorie Waits, Tommy Waits, Mabel Carter, Peggy Flora and Barnett Waits, Jr..
He is survived by: his children, Karen Jones (Terry) and Kevin Waits (Carol Collins) of Versailles; his grandchildren, Justin Jones (Ashlee Callahan), Andrea Oller, Richmond, Amanda Waits and Matthew Waits (Katlynn); and his great grandchildren, Audrey Jones, Mason Oller, Annelise Oller, Poppy Jane Waits and Beckham Waits.
