He was predeceased by: his parents, William Shandy and Gracie Mae Shelton Jr. (Dismukes); and his siblings, Jerrelldeane Shelton, Earleen Shelton and William Shelton.

He is survived by: his sisters, Rosa Shelton Lynn of Mayfield, KY, Sheryl Shelton of Mayfield, KY and Suzanne Shelton of Mayfield, KY; and his aunts, Bessie Thurman and Nancy Kelly of Jurupa Valley, CA.
