He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert L. Covert, Sr. and Monavee Gresham (Lane); his stepfather Joseph Truitt Gresham; and his children, Robert Benjamin "Bennie" Covert and Kimberly Diane Kimble Jones.
He is survived by: his wife Claudia Lee Covert (Nunn) of Murray, KY; his children, Mary Delois Lonnon of Euless, TX, Christopher Lee Covert and Joseph Garrett Covert of Murray, KY; and his siblings, William L. Covert of Fort Worth, TX, Charles Robert "Bobby" Covert of Fort Worth, TX, Carol Ann Cates of Decatur, TX and Lisa Perez of Saginaw, TX. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
