He was predeceased by: his parent Johann; and his brother John Strauss. He is survived by: his daughters, Erika Castaneda (Joe) of Robtown, TX and Robin Donahe (Brendan) of Lago Vista, TX; his brother Ray Strauss of Montana; his grandchildren, Michael Castaneda, Morgan, Corinn Donahe and Candy Ferguson; his girlfriend Brenda Joiner of Murray; and his girlfriend's children, Darlene Miller of Murray, Mike and Jim Litrell.
