He was predeceased by: his father Mack Scalf; his wives, Annie Scalf, Carolyn Bolin and Hazel Marie Lee; his brothers, Andrew Scalf, Horace Scalf, Jerry Scalf, Paul Scalf, George Scalf and Jackie Scalf; his half-brother Darren Scalf; and his sister Bessie Harrod.

He is survived by: his daughters, Carolyn Sue Saylers (David) of Calvert City, Lisa Scalf of Paducah and Jami Adams (Nathan) of Hazel; his sister Kay Allison of Oak Ridge, TN; and his half-sister Susan Kay of Knoxville, TN. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
