Though Douglas may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Douglas touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his parents, George Molen and Mary Vander Molen (Bos). He is survived by: his wife June Vander Molen (Buttrick) of Murray; his children, Derek Vander Molen of Clarksville, TN and Bethany Hughes of Russellville, KY; and his brothers, Wayne Vander Molen of Byron Center, Roger Vander Molen (Jan) of Saranac and Calvin Vander Molen (Julie) of Statesville. He is also survived by four nieces, six nephews and many great nieces and great nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, February 14th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Heritage Chapel of Imes Funeral Home and Crematory (1804 KY-121, Murray, KY 42071). A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Heritage Chapel of Imes Funeral Home (1804 KY-121, Murray, KY 42071).
