She was predeceased by: her parents, Cullie Nesbitt and Grace Smotherman Nesbitt; her sister Ila Gray Charleton; and her grandson Jesse Higginbotham. She is survived by: her children, Kathy Farley of Murray, J. C. Higginbotham (Susan) of Bluefield, VA and Jerome Higginbotham (Rebecca) of Lexington; and her grandson Joe Farley of Murray.
