He was predeceased by: his brother Robert Bruce Herndon of Trussville, AL.; and his parents, Bernard Herndon and Nell Edwards Herndon. He is survived by: his wife Joyce Gould Herndon of Murray; his daughters, Angie Herndon Fisher (Brian) of Avondale Estates, GA, Betsy Herndon Character (Ben) of Eutaw, AL and Cynthia Garland McCubbin (WD) of Lexington, KY; and his grandchildren, Reese, Libby Grace, Blythe Fisher, Johnathan (Lydia), Oakley, Gwendolyn, Hudson, Thomas Jackson, Nate, Knox, Titus, Annalise, Caleb Character and Hayden McCubbin.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Gideons International, Pickens County Camp, P.O. Box 287, Carrollton, AL 35447.
