He was predeceased by: his parents, Douglas Avery and Elsie Richardson Avery; and his sister Marsha Lynn Avery. He is survived by: his wife Janice Humphrey of Kessinger, KY; his daughter Kristi Hayes (David) of Kessinger, KY; his grandchildren, Claudia Asbury (Austin Meredith), Katrina Webb (Angel Martin), Holly Hayes, David Hayes III and Jarrid Hayes; his great grandchild Bentley Meredith; his sisters, Wanda Snyder and Brenda King; and his nephew Benjamin Killman.
Visitation was held on Monday, January 20th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday, January 21st 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Brooks Funeral Home (50 Main St, Munfordville, KY 42765). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 21st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
