He was predeceased by: his parents, Grover Thomas, Sr. and Dollie Francis Owens Payne; his sister Rose Taylor; and his granddaughter Elizabeth Kathryn Payne. He is survived by: his wife Kathryn McCall "Tincy" Payne; his children, Grover Thomas "Tommy" Payne, III (Misty), Kimberly Payne Gray, Elizabeth Kaye Payne Harmon (Larry) and Kelly Susan Payne Pensol (David); his siblings, Jackie L. Payne (Jenny), Joyce Norton, Jeannie Singleton (Doug) and Sharon Poole; his grandchildren, Jacob Curtis Harmon (Rachael), Caleb McCall Harmon (Meredith), Luke Thomas Harmon, Andrew Harvey Pensol (Cali), Samuel David Pensol and Mackenzie Elizabeth Payne; and his great grandchildren, Ace Asher Harmon, Cash Curtis Harmon, Andi Claire Pensol and McCall Davis Harmon.
