It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Thelma Abney Stokes (Mount Vernon, Kentucky), who passed away on January 22, 2020, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, John Wynn and Eliza Leger Wynn; her former husband Daniel "Doc" Abney; her husband Benton Stokes; her daughter Barbara Jo Corrin; her siblings, Cynthia Isaacs, Henry, Edward and Willard Wynn; and her daughter-in-law Jeanette Abney.
She is survived by: her son Russ Abney of Lake City, MI; her grandchildren, Kathy Price (Mike), Russell Abney, Denise Corrin, Derek Corrin (Shelly) and Daniel Abney; her great grandchildren, Megan, Bailey, Reed, Sydney and Madison; and her great great grandchild Cooper. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to First Baptist Church of Mt. Vernon.
