He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Owens and Elizabeth Hayes Owens; his wife Pat Owens; his daughter Melanie Owens; and his sister Bessie Ann Hasty.
He is survived by: his sons, Everett Owens II of Mt. Vernon, KY and James Theodore "Ted" Owens; his grandchildren, Brian Owens of Mt. Vernon, KY and Brenda Owens of Orlando, KY; and his great grandchildren, Sophia Thornton, Xander Sattler, Madilynn Bond and Kaylee Owens.
