He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Renner and Carrie Allen Renner; his wife Helen Carmack Renner; his son James Ellis Renner; his brothers, Herman "Duck" Renner and Sherman; his niece Carol Renner; and his nephews, Mike, Dale, Jeff, William and Timmy Renner.
He is survived by: his stepdaughter Janice Kelly of Independence; his grandchildren, Stephanie (Scottie Hines), Hope (Donnie Sturgill), Jasmin Johnson, Jennifer Durham, Cheyenne (Matt Haste) and Kellen Carmack; his great grandchildren, Katie, Allison, Emily, Isaiah, Randall, Layne, Riley, Asher, Jasper, Haddon, Anna and Adelyn; and his nieces, Diane (Bryan Boggs), Lori (Mark Parsons), Janet (Anthony Rader), Kim (William Denny) and Lisa (Ethan Eversole).
