It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rollie Elwood Short (Mount Sterling, Kentucky), who passed away on December 8, 2024, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Arnold Short and Bessie Gibson Murphy; his wife Bernice Risner Short; and his brothers, Woodrow "Woodie" Murphy and Raleigh "R. W." Murphy.
He is survived by: his sons, David Short (Marilyn), Eddie Short, Richard Short (Barbara) and Rand Short (Tammy); his grandchildren, Joe Short (Jennifer), James Short and Lee Anne Short; and his brothers, Charles "Chuck" Murphy and Jessie Murphy. He is also survived by grandchildren; twenty-five great grandchildren; numerous great-great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, December 12th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Coffman Funeral Home & Crematory (315 S Queen St, Mt Sterling, KY 40353). A funeral service was held on Thursday, December 12th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, December 12th 2024 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at the Lovely-Amburgey Cemetery (11331 Main St, Jeffersonville, KY 40337).
