He was predeceased by: his father Robert Jack Tipton, Sr.. He is survived by: his wife Gwynne Tipton of Mt. Sterling, KY; his children, William Bryan Tipton (Emily) of Winchester, KY and Sara Tipton Joseph (Timothy) of Mt. Sterling, KY; his sisters, Martha Scott Tipton of Lexington, KY and Bess Tipton Fuller (Clyde) of Mt. Sterling, KY; and his grandchildren, Ava Elaine Joseph, Mary Porter Tipton, Elias Jack Tipton and Carlisle Kira Tipton.
