He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Rex, Emily Moore and Opal Martin; and his brother Tony Martin. He is survived by: his parents, Joe Martin and Geraldine Moore Martin of Mt. Sterling; his wife Genean Williams Martin of Mt. Sterling; his children, Rex Martin, II of Mt. Sterling and Emily Martin of Mt. Sterling; his siblings, Joseph Martin (Loretta) of Mt. Sterling and Tammy Martin Lockridge of Mt. Sterling; and his mother-in-law Arena Williams of Mt. Sterling.

In lieu of flowers donations to assist with funeral expenses can be made to Taul Funeral Home.

“I got to know Rex for the first time on a mission trip to Fiji the summer of 2009. I watched him share the Gospel, share his love for people, and most importantly, his love for Jesus. He was funny, talented, and genuine. He had a special gift of letting people know they were loved, just as they are. He will truly be missed. Everytime I see a mountain dew, I think of him.
