He was predeceased by: his parents, Logan Townsend and Cora Smith Townsend; his wife Dorothy Mae Otis Townsend; and his son Timothy Carl Townsend. He is survived by: his children, Billy Edwards of Mt. Sterling, KY, Cynthia Edwards (Rodney Agee) of Mt. Sterling, KY and Cathy Jo Edwards of Mt. Sterling, KY; his nephew Danny Townsend; and his grandchildren, Brittney Agee, Cassandra Townsend and Courtney Hall.
