He was predeceased by: his parents, William'O Nickell and Ethel Lee Hughes Nickell; his son Steven Nickell; and his siblings, Beryl Nickell, Louise Hayslett, Nelda Nickell and Ruby Kincer.
He is survived by: his wife Pauline Collinsworth Nickell of Mt. Sterling, KY; his children, Jason Nickell (Whitney) of Lexington, KY and Kim Stamaties (Tony) of Mt. Sterling, KY; and his brother Ronald Nickell (Mary) of Virginia. He is also survived by five grandchildren; several great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
