He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Brooks and Stella Brooks; his wife Ruby Marie Brooks; his daughter Gail Rogers; his grandson Brandon Rogers; and his siblings, Benny Brooks, Cecil Brooks, Avery Brooks of Charles Brooks, JR, Paul Brooks and Thelma Stephens.
He is survived by: his children, Rick Brooks (Tina), Wayne Brooks (Evelyn), Theresa Roe (Lloyd), Tena Martin and Judy Patrick (Rick); and his sister Louise Lawrence. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren.
