He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Markland and Elsie Collins Markland; his daughter Connie Hatton; his siblings, George Markland, Bobby Markland, Rodney Markland, Charles Markland, Louise Jones, Edna Markland, Elizabeth "Bush" Markland and Phyllis Queen; and also Sally Markland.
He is survived by: his children, Sheila Puckett (Tim) of Mt. Sterling, Mariesa Raymer Watson (Michael) of Lexington and Jeff Caldwell (Casey Howard) of Mt. Sterling; and his grandchildren, Daffney Banta of Nicholasville, Stephanie Arthur (Logan) of Richmond, Brad Puckett (Ellie) of Louisville, Jusstine Edmonson (Aaron) of Waco, Jason Caldwell (Erica) of Mt. Sterling, Madison Caldwell of Mt. Sterling and Colton Caldwell of Mt. Sterling. He is also survived by eight great grandchildren.
