He was predeceased by: his parents, Homer John and Mattie Ellen Carter Bickers; his former wife Lou Ella Cheek Bickers; and his daughter Martha Ellen Bickers. He is survived by: his wife Edna E. Bickers of Mt. Sterling; his sons, Gilbert Lee Bickers (Debbie) of Lexington and Matt Douglas Bickers of Clay City; and his stepchildren, Armester Denzil Blevins of Louisville, Mitchell Douglas Blevins (Nicole) of Mt. Sterling and Tammy Lynn Jones (Eddie) of Owingsville. He is also survived by six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren and nine step grandchildren.
