He was predeceased by: his parents, Delmas Whitaker and Aldean Whitaker (Gibbs); and his siblings, Edward Whitaker and Margie (Botkin). He is survived by: his brother Earl Ray Whitaker (Carolyn); his wife Carolyn (McNay); his daughters, Christy Harris (John), Mary Crockett (Jerry) and Elizabeth Caudill (Aaron); his grandchildren, Andrew (Savannah), Catherine, Emily, Jack (Anna Rose), Clay, Caroline, Del and Anna; his great grandchildren, Whitley and Palmer; and his sister Wanda (Purvis).
Visitation was held on Friday, November 8th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the First Church of God (1051 Camargo Rd, Mt Sterling, KY 40353). A funeral service was held on Friday, November 8th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, November 8th 2024 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at the Machpelah Cemetery (600 E Locust St, Mt Sterling, KY 40353).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the First Church of God Children's ministry where Gerald spent 23 years singing and letting children know about the love of Christ.
