He was predeceased by: his son Rodney Allen Smith; and his siblings, Donald Terry Smith and Jeannie Smith. He is survived by: his son Brian Smith (Lacy) of Edmore, MI; his siblings, Dennis Dennings of Gladwin, MI, Mary Sagryn (JD) of Six Lakes, MI and Helen Griffen of Standish, MI; and his grandchildren, Kyle Smith, Kory Smith, Alissa Smith, Kinsley Smith and Carissa Smith.
