He is survived by: his son Dale Gilbert (Nancy) of Clay City; his stepson Timothy Pergram (Susan) of Lexington; his grandchildren, Amanda Gilbert and Cory Gilbert; his stepgrandchildren, Clay Thomas Pergram (Sarah), Cameron McCall Pergram (Lauren) and Zach Hein; his great grandchildren, McKaila Johnson, Ava Johnson and Reese Johnson; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Seeley Grace Pergram and Grey Thomas Pergram; and his siblings, Phyllis Noland (W. J.) of Irvine, Earl Gilbert (Doris) of Lexington, Morris Gilbert and Cebert Jr. Gilbert (Karen) of Stanton. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
