Betty Jean Lawson Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Betty Jean Lawson of Mount Sterling, Kentucky, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 18, 2025 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Jim Will Johnson and June Utterback Johnson. She is survived by: her children, Charles Carrillo (Linda), Lori Wells and Paula Riley; her brother W. E. "Bill" Johnson (Lela) of Mt. Sterling; and her grandchildren, Jason McClanahan (Rebecca), Christopher Carrillo (Becky), Jeremy McClanahan (Dana), Sean Riley, Sarah McClanahan (Nick) and Katlyn Riley. She is also survived by several great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews, and other extended family.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 21st 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Spring Street Baptist Church (442 Spring St, Mt Sterling, KY 40353). A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 21st 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, February 21st 2025 at the Machpelah Cemetery (600 E Locust St, Mt Sterling, KY 40353).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Betty's memory to Spring Street Baptist Church or Mt. Sterling American Legion Post 22, 1091 Winchester Road, Mt. Sterling, KY 40353.
