He was predeceased by: his wife Sharon Hager Shelton; his son Christopher Alan Shelton; his parents, Everett Shelton and Thelma Shelton; and his siblings, Virginia Shelton Dunn, Alvis Shelton, Sam Shelton, Harold Wesley Shelton, Wayne Shelton and Robert Alfred Shelton.
He is survived by: his daughter Staci Leigh Vititoe; his grandchildren, Casey Nicole Shelton, Sidney Taylor Vititoe, Samantha Marie Vititoe, Bonnie Shelton, Christopher Shelton Jr. and Jonathan Slinker; his great grandchildren, Aiden Alexander Zaza, Nate Slinker and Michael Slinker; and his brother Edwin Shelton (Ruth). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
