He was predeceased by: his parents, Hermon Welch and Mary Blanche Milton Welch; his daughter Cindy Wilson; and his sisters, Shirley Moore and Eugenia Welch.

He is survived by: his wife Pat Welch of Mount Eden; and his children, Sandy Harrod (Darrell) of Mount Washington, Hermon Welch (Lisa) of Cox's Creek and Jamie O'Bannon (Mike) of Cox's Creek. He is also survived by his ten grandchildren and his thirteen great-grandchildren.
