He was predeceased by: his mother Carolyn Oden McCoy; his aunts, Eunice McCoy and Ollie Ruth Lewis; and his uncle J. P. "Poko" Lewis. He is survived by: his son Charles R. McCoy (Tobie) of Houston, TX; his father Waylon McCoy of Morgantown; his stepchildren, Ashley Hawkins of Morgantown and Matthew Hawkins of Bowling Green; and his granddaughter Hayden McCoy. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins.
