He was predeceased by: his parents, Oren Trainer and Katherine Stinson Trainer; his wife Darlene Gay Trainer; and his siblings, George Allen Pate, Jessie Trainer and Nadine Smith.

He is survived by: his children, Dustin Trainer of Virginia, IL and Jounna Hedgepath.
