He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry "Sweetsie" and Ruby Kanipe (McKendree). He is survived by: his wife Fonda Kanipe of Morganfield; his sons, James Ryan Kanipe of Owensboro, KY and Carl Daren Kanipe of Henderson, KY; his granddaughter Marissa Leigh Kanipe; his great grandchildren, Ryder Alan Workins, Zander Drake Stone and Maxton Archer Stone; his sisters, Brenda (Butch Girten) and Trina Gayle (Donnie Joiner); and his nieces, Kristy Joiner and Stacy Davis.
