He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth Sharp and Edna Mae Campbell Sharp; and his brother Kenneth C. Sharp. He is survived by: his wife Betty Phelps Sharp; his children, Dan Sharp of Lexington, Kentucky and Debby Perry (Jeff) of Winchester, Kentucky; and his grandsons, Dylan Jeffery Perry and Jace William Perry.

He was an active member of the Wesley Foundation and a work study at the bookstore.
