He is survived by: his children, Kimberly Carpenter of Morehead, KY and Richard "Ricky" Carpenter, Jr. (Carlie) of Morehead, KY; his grandchildren, Karmen Meenach of Olive Hill, KY, Remington, Cash Withrow of Morehead, KY and James Allen "Jac" Carpenter of Morehead, KY.; his siblings, Nicholas Carpenter of St. Petersburg, FL, Debbie Bass of Palm Bay, FL and Diane Mathe of Erwin, TN; and his girlfriend Darlene DeBeaulieu of Ohio.
