He was predeceased by: his parents, David "Hoppy" Pettit and Bearl Haney Pettit; his wife Vergie Mae Tackett Pettit; his daughter Amy Lynn Pettit; and his siblings, Junior Pettit, Wayne Pettit, Gary Pettit, Patty Mynhier and Kathleen Staton.
He is survived by: his daughters, Pauletta (Ricky Keeton), Norene Pettit of Morehead, Angie (LeMay), Melissa (Stephen Thompson) and Becky (Wayne Fraley); his grandchildren, Brandon Keeton, Darren Keeton, Heather Dawn Hoskins, Ashley Nicole Hale, Paul LeMay, Sonya Meade, Dalton Richards, Dylan Richards, Bryice Richards, Keith Richards and Isabella Richards; and his siblings, Gene Pettit of Morehead and Judith (Mike Terry). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
