He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Lee Adams and Virginia Ruth Riley Adams; his grandson Derrick Ray Beamon; and his brothers, Terry Adams and David Lee Adams.
He is survived by: his wife Bettsy Carter Adams; his daughter Virginia Betsy Adams Stephens of Morehead; his grandchildren, Jerry Lee Frederick (Emily), Leslie Frederick (Levi), Carly Pennington (Dennis), Matthew Stephens and Kelly Stephens; and his siblings, Tommy Adams (Jean) of Clearfield, Archie "Duke" Adams (Brenda) of Morehead, Ronnie Adams of Morehead and Sarah Adams of Morehead. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews; extended family and friends.
