He was predeceased by: his father Curtis Lee Hughes; and his grandparents, Frank and Mary "Nan" Owens Samons. He is survived by: his mother Brenda Samons Bishop of Morehead; his wife Anita "Maria" Thompson Hughes; his daughter Rylee Hughes; his brother Steven Hughes of Lima, Ohio; and his cousin Ronnie Bradley of Flat Gap. He is also survived by other extended family and many friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 3rd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Northcutt & Son Home For Funerals, Inc. (400 Fraley Dr, Morehead, KY 40351). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 at the Thompson Family Cemetery (Rush, KY 41168). During the Covid Response, Jeff played a key role including operations, mobilization, and coordination with the Army National Guard.
