He is survived by: his wife Georgetta Penick Taulbee; his children, James Gregory Combs of Clay City and Lisa Blanton of Morehead; his granddaughter Kayla Blanton of Mt. Sterling; his great grandchildren, Garylee Cundiff and Valiarian Montalbo; and his brother Frank Taulbee of Winchester.
