He was predeceased by: his parents, Jasper Smith and Jerrie Alexander Smith; his former wife Velma Reynolds Smith; his children, Donna Loukes, Susie Martin, Sherri Evans and David East; his grandson Clyde Campbell; his great great grandchild Theo Campbell; and his siblings, Geneva Smith Reynolds, Carl and Ralph Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Burkhart Smith; his children, Patsy Blevins (Michael), Donnie East (Charlotte), Tony East (Melissa), Johnny East (Kim) and Rocky East; his son-in-law Mike Martin; and his siblings, Virginia Smith Green and Lawrence Smith (Jayne). He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.
