Stuart left this world on April 9, 2025 at the age of 87, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Henry "Hank" and Naomi James (Cadby) of Georgia; and his brother Dennis James. He is survived by: his wife Alice Upchurch-James (Dennis); his daughters, Jackie James and Monica Slater (Tony); and his stepsons, Jonathan Upchurch, Justin Upchurch, Jeremiah Upchurch, Jared Upchurch, Eddie Upchurch, Dan Upchurch and Rick Upchurch. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday, April 13th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the Vernon Cemetery (315 S Pike St, Vernon, IN 47282). A graveside service was held on Sunday, April 13th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home (420 S State St, North Vernon, IN 47265).
