He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Marion Hammond and Mary Allison Hammond (Burris); and his brother Christopher Hammond. He is survived by: his children, Sandra West (Chris), Christina Hammond and Joe Hammond (Freda); his grandchildren, Cadynce, Xaivea West, Shawn and Zachery Hammond; and his siblings, Thomas (Lea), Jerry, Timothy, Lewis, Melvin, Robin Hammond and Martha Tibbs.
