He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie "Bill" Pyles and Nannie Pyles (Hicks); and his siblings, Hershel Clay Pyles, Benda Carter, Ruby Rednour and Linda May Pyles.
He is survived by: his wife Illa Jane Pyles; his children, Janet Lynn McGinnis, Tim Pyles (Maerene), Jeff Pyles and Mark Pyles; his grandchildren, Kira Pyles, Kelci Bridgeman (Jacob), Stone Pyles and Dex Pyles; his great grandchild Laci Aderene Bridgeman; and his siblings, Dee Pyles (Leta), Clyde Pyles (Darlene), Roger Pyles (Jan), Gary Pyles (Theresa), Pearl Dishman, Lisa McGinnis (Paul), Jewell McGinnis (Barry), Judy Stinson (Dennis) and Mary McGinnis (Arnold).
The family has requested that in lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
