He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Massengale and Estelle Massengale (Woody); and his siblings, Mikeal Massengale, Wanda Bybee, Carolyn Troxell and Marla Conley.

He is survived by: his wife Carlene Massengale (Piercy); his daughter Julie Ann Massengale; and his brother Johnny Massengale (Brenda).
