He was predeceased by: his parents, Haskell Hughes and Edna Hughes (Harris); and his brothers, Roger Lee Hughes and Danny Hughes, Sr.. He is survived by: his wife Cornelia (Kurtz); his children, Angela Sanguino (Carlos) and Travis Hughes; his grandchildren, Trevor Hughes-Smith and Victoria Sanguino; his sister-in-law Betty Hughes (Thurman); and his nephews, Danny Hughes (Carolyn), Steven Hughes (Ann Margaret) and Jerry Hughes.
