He was predeceased by: his parents, Lowell Thomas and Geneva Ruth Abbott; and his niece MiKeila Love. He is survived by: his wife Tammy Sandlin; his children, Shawn Sandlin (Stacy), Brandon Sandlin (Ashley), Mark Sandlin (Andrea) and Stephanie Andrews (Aaron); his grandchildren, Tyler Sandlin (Hannah), Cody Sandlin (Haley), Shane Sandlin (Jalin), Jorian Hedges (Ella), Riley Hedges, Laci Sandlin, Addison Bolmer, Larkyn Andrews, Eadi Sandlin, Cora Sandlin, Davina Chasteen, Kash Chasteen and Morgan Andrews; and his siblings, Darla Clayton (Shawn) and Michael Sandlin (Sheila).

Visitation was held on Thursday, April 3rd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Church (1049 Richmond Rd N, Berea, KY 40403).
